Your role
As Portfolio Officer, you will play a crucial role in the Financial Institutions Nasira team. This dynamic position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, such as portfolio management of the current Nasira program, managing client relationships, internal and external reporting and stakeholder management and contributing to product development for Nasira and Nasira+. You will be instrumental in monitoring portfolios under Nasira and Nasira+.
Key responsibilities include:
Portfolio & Client Management
- Manage existing client relationships and onboard new Nasira+ clients onto the monitoring platform.
- Actively manage portfolios and maintain strong communication with financial institutions.
- Assess portfolio risks and provide input for credit reviews, change requests, and client re-ratings through timely analysis and input.
Monitoring & Risk Analysis
- Monitor guaranteed portfolios with a focus on data quality and credit risk.
- Ensure accuracy of data quality and in reporting key indicators such as NPLs, recoveries, credit losses, and claims.
- Lead internal monitoring meetings and continuously improve the monitoring framework.
Data & Reporting
- Maximize data collection efforts, with a particular focus on loss calculations and impact data.
- Manage internal and external reporting requirements and ensure compliance.
- Maintain the relationship with the external provider of the Nasira reporting application.
Product & Process Development
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Nasira(+) processes and product design.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the monitoring and reporting system.
Team Contribution
- Coach and support junior team members to build team capacity.
Our offer
- Gross yearly salary of between EUR 85K-105K on a 40-hour basis (including holiday allowance and 13th month), depending on seniority, years of experience and background.

Your team
Our Financial Institutions department invests in financial institutions that deliver meaningful impacts on local economies and communities. The Financial Institutions department developed Nasira, a risk-sharing facility that uses loan portfolio guarantees/synthetic securitizations to stimulate investments in underserved MSMEs across Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Middle East & Northern Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The program is partially counter guaranteed by the European Commission and Dutch Government Fund (MASSIF).
Given the success of Nasira and its full deployment, FMO, EC, and MASSIF will launch Nasira+ in 2025, expanding the program’s volume and geographical reach to include Asia and Latin America.
The current Nasira team is a specialized unit comprising eight professionals:
- Team Manager,
- two Senior Structured Finance Officers,
- three (Senior) Structured Finance Associates,
- and two Portfolio Officers.
As a Portfolio Officer, you will be key to monitoring credit risk.
Your background
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Master’s degree in economics, Finance, Business administration, Engineering or Data analytics Minimum 7 years working experience in data/portfolio analysis and financial reporting preferably in securitisation / structured finance products.
- Understanding of structured credit products and the banking regulations.
- Experience in interacting with clients preferable in emerging markets.
- Working experience in an international environment and/or in emerging markets is a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal is a strong requirement.

You are proactive, solution-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. With strong analytical and critical thinking skills, you bring structure and insight to complex issues. You work comfortably in a matrix organization and understand data and financial reporting well. Also, you use Excel or data analytics proficiently. Willingness to travel is required.
